Kate Skidmore
Music. A universal language. Music inspires, heals, entertains, connects people, captures stories, helps people find their voice, stores memories, and impacts both the artist and the audience. As a songwriter, I use concepts, to form lyrics, and capture messages, that helps harness emotions, housed within melodies and harmonies, that distills life, down to an essence, that comes packaged, as a song. Every listener hears something a little different as the lyrics and music are filtered through each person's unique life experiences. A song is sonic art that accesses our emotions.
I work independently and in collaboration with co-writers and artists to write, perform, and produce music. Though I do work as an independent songwriter, I am a connector. My favorite way to write songs is through the Art of Collaboration. Where synergistic relationships emerge from combining the strengths of "many" into a more powerful whole. I know my strengths shine brighter when complimented within the alignment of other songwriters and producers skill sets. You can see this dynamic represented in my current song library. My lyrics and basic melodies have been arranged, performed, and produced by singer/songwriter/performer/composer/producer/multi-instrumentalist, Maria Skidmore. She makes my basic songs shine brighter than I ever could on my own. Our collaborative efforts are captured under the name,
Skipping Stones (feat. Maria Skidmore), and Skipping Stones Productions.
Moon Light (feat. Maria Skidmore), is our first a Read and Sing-a-long song, book, animated video and lyric video. Released during the Snow Full Moon of February, 24, 2024. Moon Light is the first in our, I SPY HOPE IN MY LIFE, song and book series.

Here I will capture WORDS from scripture that feel timeless in their reflection. Often called the ancient of days, I know this all has come before me and will remain far past me.
I like to remember the word Salvation means wholeness. Your Agape Love, oh my God, reigns.
I like to remember when I see the word “God“ that God is a God of Agape Love... the staying here—not going anywhere— steadfast Love— kind of Love.
